Gosund Smart Plug Review

So like many out there people are working towards making their lives easier by turning their homes into a smart home. Like any technology some out there are good, some are bad, and some hit somewhere in the middle. This is the review of the Gosund smart plug.

So when I ordered the plug it came in a pack of four. When I opened it the box the plugs were neatly in place and plastic covering covered the end. The first thing I noticed about the plugs themselves was how big they were.

Once I pulled the plug out of the box I saw felt that they were heavier then I thought it would be. Not really heavy though. The next thing I noticed was the power button on the side of the plug. Besides it being bigger than I expected, it was exactly what I thought it would be.

So I then plugged it into a socket. The light started flashing fast. I pulled up the app, but if you did not have the app you could download it right off the box. I first plugged my lamp into it and then started working on the app.

At first it had a little difficulties finding my wifi, but that was because my service provider did an update which made the system not see 2.4ghz. I then hooked it up to my webhub which I can control and it read it fine without any issues.

Followed the prompts and then set up the device. You will know that it is almost done when you hear a click noise and the light goes solid. The lamp turned on and shortly afterward I was able to control it with the Alexa device.

Overall this is one of easiest installs for a smart home I have done. If you can plug something into a wall and follow a few simple steps, then this will be one of the quickest installs you can do for a smart home.
