Eaton Smart Switch vs Gosund

If you are thinking about turning your home into a smart home then one of the many things that you are going to need to look at are the smart switches that you can use. Amongst the many that are out there you will see two brands that show up a quite a bit. That is Eaton and Gosund.

Now with me having a mechanic background, when I saw Eaton I was happy to give them a try. Heck they make a good brand of transmission on the trucks I work on. So I went to Lowes and bought a smart switch and a dimmer switch. I came back to my home and went to install them and guess what, they did not work. I pulled them out and verified that they were installed correctly. I even called up and talked to Eaton tech support and after doing a bunch of steps to reset the switch I finally got a switch and dimmer switch to work correctly. The experience with these switches causes me a headache.

Now when dealing with Gosunds. The price for 4 was the same price as 1 of Eatons. I purchased it through Amazon and in several days it arrived. On the back of them were wires that were color coated to it and came with everything that i needed to put it on including the cover. I hooked the switch up and after a second it turned the light on and started blinking. I hooked my app up to it and followed the steps and with no issues at all, the smart switch was installed.

Now on the negative side. For Gosunds they currently only offer a single pole so if there is multiple switches for one light, this will not work. Eaton offers both styles.
