So if you are here you are considering in purchasing an Eaton dimmer switch and are wondering if it will be good for you and your home. Well we went out and bought the Smart Dimmer switch and went to install it in our house.
Purchasing was easy as it is located both online and at your local Lowes. Once purchasing it I took it back to the house and as I pulled it out I see that it is suppose to work for both single pole and dual pole.
So following the directions I tried a single pole first. It did not work at all. Then we took it to a dual pole and it did not work either. I reread the directions and then went online to look for why it did not work. What I came up with for the dual switch was that I needed to go out and buy the auxiliary smart switch for it. Even though it said I shouldn't need it according to the instructions.

Once I got the second switch, I came back and installed both of them and the only difference. the main switch light came on. So I tried the app and the app could not see it. I then called their tech support and worked with them for about an hour and they determined it was faulty. So I took them both back, got another one and reinstalled. Bet you can guess what happened next. Nothing, it still did not work.
So being fair in the evaluation, I called in an electrician to do the install. He came in and installed them and it took him over an hour to get the light to turn on, but it would not turn off once he did. He then continued to mess around with it and finally an hour and a half later the switch was working on the wall.

So trying to turn the house into a smart home I went and pulled up the app with the electrician next to me and we followed the directions and once again the switch could not be recognized by their own app. I then pulled up my other app I use "Smart Life" and after 10 attempts, it finally found it. We then put the whole thing back together.
After the install I still had more issues. The signal to the switch kept losing signal and the switch was less than 10 feet away from the mesh hub that I have installed just for the smart home. The switch itself kept delaying and I had to keep resetting it.
Overall not a good experience with this product. I have found other products have worked so much better with an easy install. With less flaky of a wifi system. That has its own software that provides updates to allow it to work better.
